Energy Centers & Chinese Medicine |
Mind-body medicine is a rapidly growing field that addresses the connection between consciousness and physical disharmonies. At the Lani'aina Wellness Center, a synthesis of Traditional Chinese Medicine and modern psychoneuroimmunology is evolving as an effective healing modality for addressing the continuum of body-mind-spirit.Acupuncture is often effective for addressing mind-body disorders through the meridian system and Chinese herbs. Ayurveda, the traditional Indian healing system, also recognizes the mind-body connection and uses sounds, gems, diet, colors and herbs to harmonize and heal the bodymind. Ayurveda works with the body's energy centers, or Chakras, to evaluate and treat mind-body disorders. A synthesis of aspects of Chinese acupuncture and Chakra color therapy is emerging as a new form of mind-body medicine.Mind-body medicine is based on the discovery that wherever thought goes, a chemical goes with it. This helps us to understand why distressed mental states get converted into the biochemicals that can create disease. We have all experienced times when the free flow of energy or intention seems blocked. Habitual blocks can relate to chakra functions. Chakras directly support the health, harmony and balance of our bodies, minds and spirits. Childhood trauma, cultural conditioning, limited belief systems, habits, physical and emotional injuries or disease, or just lack of attention all contribute to chakra blockages.
Energy Center Evaluation
Each chakra is a swirling vortex of electromagnetic energy and have a characteristic spin pattern, like a tornado or whirlpool. One method of "reading" the spin pattern is dowsing with a pendulum. When using a pendulum, the energy of the healer flows into the field of the pendulum to energize it. This combined field of the pendulum and the client’s energy then interacts, causing the pendulum to move. Spin patterns include clockwise, counter-clockwise, diagonal, horizontal, vertical and cloverleaf patterns. Each pattern has a characteristic interpretation. Chakras rotate in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction. The size, shape and direction of the pendulum movement indicates the amount and direction of energy flowing through the chakra.
At the Lani'aina Wellness Center, we use traditional forms of TCM diagnosis and based on our understanding of the client's unique presentation, observing the spin patterns provides additional valuable insight into the underlying cause of pain and disease.
Energy Center Therapy
The beauty of the chakra system is the many dimensions and opportunities for healing. At the Lani'aina Wellness Center, we assist you in shifting your consciousness and re-establishing energetic balance using a multi-sensory approach. Each Chakra is associated with an aspect of consciousness, a color, an endocrine gland, a body system. Because each chakra also is associated with a group of acupuncture points, Chakra therapy works harmoniously with acupuncture, utilizing needle or non-needle microcurrent approach. Our protocols are tailored to the individual and may include the application of color light, healing sound, hands-on healing, microlight therapy, Chinese herbs and intuitive bodywork. When the distorted spin of the energy center is returned to its normal clockwise and steady spin after therapy, our patients report a sense of increased well-being, pain reduction, or other symptomatic improvement. Sometimes, emotional releases happen as part of the process. This multi-sensory approach to healing may be effective for the treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, fibromyalgia, hormonal imbalances, chronic pain, depression and other mental-emotional challenges.
